We come to the end of another busy and eventful fortnight at St Augustine’s School.
The School Board met on Wednesday evening and it is terrific to have a healthy number of parents who give voice to issues and advice around various matters impacting school life and culture. Board Members are Mr Bryce Madgwick – President, Mark Flinn – Vice President, Rebecca Warland – Secretary together with Phoebe Kitto, Rae-leen Swindly, Sarah Hughes, Helen Seale, Daina Keech, Kate Agrums and Tara Bennett.
We are in the Parent-Teacher interview period which concludes next Friday. These interviews are brief 15 minute sessions to give an outline of your child has gone in commencing the 2019 school year. If any issue require further discussion please seek another appointment with your teacher so concerns can be discussed at a deeper level and with more time.
Next Tuesday is Shrove Tuesday and we have the annual Pancake Morning. Thank you to Prep and Yr 3 families who are contributing items to this event. A gold coin donation is being requested as our way of supporting the Townsville & Farmers Flood Appeal. Nutella nor peanut butter will be available in consideration for members of our community where these products could cause harm.
Ash Wednesday, the following day, sees the commencement of Lent. All are very welcome to attend our school Liturgy.
Wednesday saw the Principal Appraisal take place. The Panel and I thank all staff, parents and students who provided feedback via surveys and interviews. A report will be provided outlining affirmations and recommendations to guide me in my professional journey. Your support is always greatly appreciated.
God Bless
Paul
