Yulmburral to Week 3
This week has been a wonderful week of enhancing our Catholic identity (Priority Goal #1). On Tuesday the school came together for our first Eucharistic celebration – The Opening School Year Mass. Not only was this a time to embrace Jesus into the life of our school it was also the opportunity to welcome Fr Joby as our Parish-School Priest. The Yr 6 Leaders were terrific and I thank Mrs Hall, our new APRE, for making this sacramental opportunity a highlight of the week.

On Tuesday afternoon we continued our positive energies by participating in our termly JOY session. We find JOY at St Augustine’s when we build positive relationships with “J-esus, O-thers and Y-ourself”. Students and staff participated in various multi-age activities to have fun and consolidate a school culture of positive relationships.

Volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Form, sign in and out and read the Student Protection Guidelines Booklet. These forms are available from Admin or from your class teacher and they only need to be completed once. In a practical sense the much appreciated actions of our volunteers will continue as normal.
The Parent Information Evening was a terrific night of community. Our Yr 6 Leaders commenced the evening as school ambassadors and hosts. Once again they demonstrated pride and purpose and are to be congratulated in the manner in which they are fulfilling their roles. Feedback from parents and teachers has been very positive. If any questions or issues need to be addressed please do not hesitate to make contact with your child’s teacher and arrange an interview.

Attendance (current rate = 97%) and uniform continue to shows signs of improvement. I congratulate all who are supporting this aspect of school life.
Have a terrific fortnight.
God bless
Paul
