Welcome back to Term 2.
ANZAC DAY has been the focus this week. I was pleased to see the manner our children respectfully engaged with the meaning behind this day. Each year, we remind ourselves the day speaks very intimately with our own Christian story. The day honours ‘love’ through self-sacrifice and service. Christ, having so loved us all gave his life for us, and we see this same act of devotion in the many men and women who gave their lives in active service for our country and in the pursuit for peace. As part of the challenge in honouring the ANZAC tradition, each of us are called to be an “Ambassador for Peace”. In doing this, we are also honouring Christ’s challenge to “Love one another”.

The School ANZAC Assembly, prepared by Mrs Hall, was an appropriate way in bringing the secular and faith aspects of ANZAC Day together. The children were extremely reverent and our Year 6 student leaders delivered our liturgy with dignity and grace.
