As a contemporary learning environment, St Augustine’s facilities strive to provide a variety of flexible learning spaces for student learning. These are enhanced by a range of teaching resources, and fixed and mobile technologies such as interactive whiteboards, laptops, digital cameras and iPads. A one-to-one digital device program started in 2016 means all students have access to a device.
Students have access to a wide range of the latest digital technologies such as Sphero Robotic balls, Bee Bots and Lego Robotics to introduce students to the coding component of the Australian Curriculum.
In recent years, extensive renovations were carried out to the school facilities including the construction of McAuley Place performing arts centre, a multi-purpose building next to the undercover basketball court, a junior undercover play area, a new classroom block with two new classrooms, and a contemporary library.
The school now has 10 classrooms, a Library, Learning Support Centre, and a dedicated STEM room, as well as a Tuckshop, Administration area and Staff room. There are two playgrounds around the main school buildings, along with an extended oval. Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) have a dedicated room with the use of all school facilities.
Adjacent to St Augustine’s School is the Mossman and Port Douglas Parish Church.
