Arrivals – Early, On time, Late
Children should not arrive at school before 8 am. Teachers are at school from 8 am onwards, preparing for their day’s work. A teacher is on duty from 8.20 am. There are no teachers on playground duty before this time.
Parents are encouraged to ensure that students arrive at school between 8.20 and 8:35am, so that they can organise themselves and be ready to start their school day promptly at 8:40am.
Students who are consistently late miss out on gathering with their peer group. Their learning opportunities are disrupted, as are the opportunities of their classmates.
Students who arrive at school after 8:40am must report to the office to sign the late arrivals book and receive a late pass to take to class. This pass is to be given to the Classroom Teacher where it is filed with the record of attendance and the student will be marked late on the morning roll.
Departures
Upon dismissal, children are obliged to leave the school grounds immediately through the front gate in front of the Administration Building in Grogan Street. If children exit the school via Jack Street, they must either be picked up by the family car or walk/ride immediately home and not go through the hospital premises.
All bicycle riders must exit the school grounds from Grogan Street through the front gate.
Bus children and those waiting for parent pick-up are supervised until 3.05 pm. Children to be picked up are to wait only with the duty teacher in front of the Administration Building, in Grogan Street. Failure to do this means children are in an unsupervised area.
Leaving School Grounds
Parents coming to the school to collect students during the school day are required to come to the office to sign their children out. Children will then be sent to the office to meet their parents.
